Volunteering
At Green Bay Sail & Paddle, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From maintaining our boats to mentoring young sailors, every volunteer helps us expand access to sailing, strengthen community connections, and create lasting memories on the water. Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a longer-term commitment, there’s a place for you on our crew!
Here are some of the many ways you can get involved:
Boat Maintenance: Help keep our fleet shipshape by assisting with cleaning, repairs, and regular maintenance of sailing equipment.
Sailing Education: Support our instructors by teaching sailing basics, safety practices, and on-the-water skills to students of all ages.
Staff Support: Provide valuable behind-the-scenes help with tasks such as administering surveys, organizing files, and assisting with dock or shore activities.
Board of Directors: Play a key role in shaping the future of Green Bay Sail & Paddle. Board members help guide organizational strategy, ensure strong governance, and make decisions that support our continued growth and community impact.
Photography & Videography: Capture the excitement of sailing! If you have creative skills in photography or video, we’d love your help in showcasing our programs and community.
Youth Development & Translation: Supporting the education and growth of local youth is central to our mission. If you speak Spanish or enjoy working with young people, consider volunteering your time to help with our educational initiatives in the Hispanic community.
Beach Clean-Up: As sailors, we have a deep connection to the environment. Volunteers are always welcome to help keep our beach and shoreline clean—especially during our annual Earth Day Beach Clean-Up.
Event Coordination: Contribute to the success of races, classes, fundraisers, and community gatherings by helping with planning, setup, and logistics.
Community Engagement: Join outreach projects that connect GBSP with local organizations, promote inclusivity, and build awareness of our mission.
Research & Development: Help identify new funding opportunities, program ideas, and innovative sailing experiences to keep our programs fresh and impactful.
