Tuesday Night Racing
Are you looking for a new challenge with sailing? Are you an individual that likes competitive, fast-paced situations? Then our Tuesday night racing series is for you! Every Tuesday evening throughout the summer, participants can join us on our S2 7.9 sailboat at Windjammers Sailing Club in Suamico. Learn about racing from an experienced crew and have the chance to race around 12-15 other boats.
Prerequisite:Participants should have completed Intro to Sailing or at least have gone sailing at some point in their lifetime. Sailboat racing is intense with quick reaction times required. This is not a course for someone who has never been on a sailboat before.

- Understanding GBSP safety rules and emergency procedures
- Proper fitting and adjustment of a Personal Floatation Device (PDF)
- Sail Shape
- Adjustment of downhaul for wind conditions
- Purpose and function of battens
- “Reading” air flow over a sail using telltales
- Adjusting sail trim for wind conditions and wind angle
- Managing sail shape with distractions
- Basic safety (boat safety checklist, VHF basics)

What to bring:
- A completed & signed waiver
- Eyeglasses or sunglasses - with holder strap cord
- Closed-toe shoes

- Water bottle full of water/ beverage
- We provide life jackets however, students may bring their own if they wish. (All privately owned life jackets are subject to inspection and approval of Green Bay Sail & Paddle Staff)

Directions:
Take HWY I-41 north to Suamico to exit #176, exiting to the right on Sunset Beach Road. After driving around a mile, you will come to the intersection of North Lakeview Drive and Sunset Beach Road. Take a left at this intersection and then drive around a mile until you come to Resort Road. After driving a mile and a half down Resort Road, take a left onto Channel Road and Windjammers Sailing Club will be at the end of the road.
